Update on Books in the Pipeline

 Greetings, all!

Just a quick post to bring you up to speed on recent activity in the publishing world, at least in regards to yours truly...

New Title: WordPress 3 Cookbook

I've just signed a contract with Packt for a new title: The WordPress 3 Cookbook. This is actually a revision of an existing title -- a new version to bring things in line with the most recent major version release from WordPress. If you haven't checked out the Cookbook series yet, it is interested. The focus is on short "recipes" which are solutions to common problems. The book ranges from relatively simple matters to fairly complex fixes, hacks, and implementations of new functionality. I'm looking forward to writing this one; it will have a different pace than the typical tech book (it's more like a series of short essays than full chapters). We don't have a publication date yet; we're still sorting out the deadlines. Stay tuned for more as I know more...

Drupal 7 Bible

The Drupal 7 Bible is now in stock on Amazon! That should also mean it has been shipped to your local stores as well, so look for at your favorite bookseller. This is a good one, folks! Order from Amazon at: http://www.amazon.com/Drupal-7-Bible-Ric-Shreves/dp/0470530308/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1304047300&sr=1-1

Drupal 7 Themes

The newest release in the Drupal Themes series has been finalized and should be going to print in the next couple of weeks. We're expecting this to be released at the end of May. Packt is already selling electronic versions of the chapters through their RAW program, so if you can't wait, drop by Packt and pick up the chapters you think you'll need. This edition has been revised extensively and I think it is the best to date -- every time I go through this I learn more and it shows in the resulting text. Check it out here: http://www.packtpub.com/drupal-7-create-themes-with-clean-layout-and-powerful-css-styling/book

Thank you all for your support. Will keep you posted here as things progress.

new joomla book?

Any chance you'll be writing a joomla 1.6 bible?

Wiley

That's up to Wiley. I know the present book is profitable for them, so that means they will consider a second edition. They tend to be on the slow side to make those decisions, however. They have yet to raise this topic with me. I will raise the issue with them once I finish the project I am working on now (the WordPress 3 Cookbook, for Packt).

Thanks for your interest.

best,
